Vodafone plans a new logistics hub in Luxembourg to enhance supply chain efficiency across Europe.
Vodafone Group has signed an agreement to develop a new logistics hub in Luxembourg to streamline the movement of mobile and fixed network equipment for its European markets. The facility will be built in Bettembourg Logistic Park, covering 26,000 square meters, and will be developed by MG Real Estate.
The logistics hub is expected to improve the efficiency of equipment distribution, with Vodafone estimating that 88 percent of its European in-market warehouses can be reached from Luxembourg within 24 hours. The project aims to achieve a high BREEAM sustainability certification by incorporating eco-friendly materials and processes.
Vodafone Procurement Company will manage the facility, using digital technology to monitor the company’s supply chain in real time. Construction is slated to begin in early 2025, with the hub becoming operational by 2026. Luka Mucic, Vodafone’s CFO, stated the investment aligns with Vodafone’s strategy to enhance cost-efficiency while reinforcing Luxembourg’s role as a top logistics center.
