The Indian National Committee World Mining Congress, under the Ministry of Coal’s patronage, will host an event on February 29, 2024, at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, to launch the “Coal Logistics Plan & Policy.”

To produce 1.5 BT of coal by FY 2030 for India’s energy security, the Ministry of Coal’s integrated plan focuses on creating a technologically advanced, cost-effective, and sustainable coal logistics ecosystem. This strategic framework aligns with the Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision, reducing reliance on imported coal.
The Ministry’s action plan emphasises First-mile Connectivity, waterways transportation, rail evacuation capacity augmentation, and coastal shipping of coal to achieve the ambitious goal of doubling coal production by 2030. The event aims to encourage detailed discussions and gather suggestions for nationwide infrastructure development, with a particular focus on optimising coal evacuation processes.
