Syngenta Crop Protection and Maersk renew their 4PL partnership to advance sustainable and resilient supply chain solutions.
Syngenta Crop Protection has extended its fourth-party logistics (4PL) partnership with Maersk, a top global logistics integrator, for another five years. This collaboration highlights both companies’ dedication to responsible and optimised logistics through continued supply chain innovation.
Under the 4PL model, Maersk oversees Syngenta’s logistics resources, technology, and infrastructure, designing and managing a streamlined, customised supply chain from factory to final destination. A key aspect of this partnership is a shared commitment to reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Maersk has pledged net zero emissions by 2040, while Syngenta is actively working toward decarbonisation goals in its operations. Regular emissions reporting and ongoing sustainability discussions are integral to their strategy.
Since the partnership began eight years ago, Syngenta and Maersk have overcome major global disruptions—such as the Covid pandemic and Red Sea crisis—while implementing new methods to reduce GHG emissions across Syngenta’s supply chain.
“We are thrilled to extend our partnership with Maersk,” said Mike Hollands, Syngenta’s Global Head of Production & Supply. “Our shared commitment to sustainability and innovation continues to drive value as we reach new milestones in digital logistics and AI-enhanced solutions.”
Dimitris Armenakis, Maersk’s Global Head of Managed by Maersk Product, echoed this sentiment, emphasising that Maersk thrives on customer success by creating efficient and simplified logistics solutions that add value.
The extended partnership solidifies Syngenta and Maersk’s joint commitment to pioneering sustainable, efficient, and resilient supply chain strategies.
