Silk Way Airlines successfully transported two beluga whales from Ukraine to Spain.
Silk Way Airlines has proudly completed the relocation of two beluga whales from an aquarium in Ukraine to a new facility in Spain. This mission underscores the airline’s commitment to animal welfare and its capability to manage delicate cargo.
Due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, direct flights were not feasible. The beluga whales were transported by land from Ukraine to Moldova, where Silk Way Airlines then flew them to Spain. The airline utilised its extensive experience in handling special cargo, ensuring optimal conditions for the whales throughout the journey. The specialised team collaborated with animal care experts and veterinarians to monitor the whales’ health and comfort during the flight.
The transportation involved careful planning, specialised equipment, and containers to provide a stable environment for the animals. Silk Way Airlines worked closely with Oceanografic and international animal transporters to execute the mission successfully.
Mustafa Azimov, First Deputy Director of Silk Way Airlines, praised the team’s dedication and expertise in managing this sensitive operation. The mission, which took about three months, highlights Silk Way Airlines’ capacity to handle complex logistics and special cargo, solidifying its status as a leading regional air cargo carrier.
