Siemens divests its airport logistics business to Vanderlande; deal valued at €300 million.
Siemens AG has announced an agreement to sell its airport logistics division to Vanderlande, a subsidiary of Toyota Industries Corporation, for €300 million. Vanderlande, known for its expertise in automated logistics solutions across warehousing, airports, and parcel handling, will act as a strategic, long-term partner for Siemens Logistics. The transaction, contingent on regulatory approvals, is anticipated to be finalised in 2025.
Ralf P. Thomas, Siemens AG’s CFO, expressed confidence in Vanderlande as the ideal successor, highlighting that the sale supports Siemens’ portfolio optimisation. Siemens Logistics CEO Michael Schneider emphasised that Vanderlande’s acquisition will bolster innovation in airport logistics, enhancing offerings for Siemens’ clients through advanced digital and automated solutions.
Vanderlande CEO Andrew Manship noted that Siemens Logistics’ innovative platform aligns with their strategic vision, aiming to provide customers with an expanded suite of services. This acquisition marks Siemens’ continued focus on refining its core technology sectors.
