Rhenus launches a 180,000 sq. ft. Central Distribution Centre for IKEA in Gurugram, enhancing logistics with sustainable solutions.

Global logistics leader Rhenus Group has inaugurated IKEA’s first fully outsourced Central Distribution Centre (CDC) in India. Located in Farrukh-Nagar, Gurugram, the 180,000-square-foot facility is set to streamline storage and fulfillment for over 7,000 IKEA products, initially catering to Delhi NCR and eventually expanding to northern markets.
With a storage capacity of 129,166 square feet, the facility integrates Rhenus’ advanced Warehouse Management System (WMS) for seamless electronic data interchange and efficient last-mile deliveries. Equipped with cutting-edge material handling systems, the CDC is designed to boost efficiency while prioritising sustainability.
The facility incorporates green initiatives such as paper pallets, LED motion-sensor lighting, rainwater harvesting, and 100% electric vehicle (EV) deliveries. It is well-connected to key transport hubs and will employ around 150 personnel, including specially-abled staff.IKEA India’s customer fulfillment head, Saiba Suri, emphasised the role of the CDC in enhancing accessibility and sustainability. Rhenus executives reaffirmed their commitment to innovation and strengthening their decades-long partnership with IKEA.
