PM Modi hails new C-295 factory in Vadodara as a milestone in India’s aerospace growth.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez jointly inaugurated the C-295 aircraft manufacturing facility at Tata Advanced Systems (TASL) in Vadodara, Gujarat. The factory is part of the “Make in India, Make for the World” mission, set to bolster defense manufacturing and strengthen Indo-Spanish ties.
PM Modi emphasised that the facility symbolises India’s evolving defense sector and the rapid shift from concept to execution. The Vadodara plant, India’s first private military aircraft production line, will manufacture 40 of the 56 C-295 aircraft in partnership with Airbus, with the remaining 16 delivered from Spain.
PM Modi expressed confidence that the facility will boost local job creation and open new opportunities for MSMEs. He also highlighted India’s growing defense exports and aerospace capabilities, noting that this project could contribute to future indigenous civil aircraft production.
