India’s PLI-Auto scheme disburses ₹322 crore to four applicants, supporting growth in the automobile and auto component sector.
The Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for the automobile and auto component industry has allocated ₹25,938 crore to enhance manufacturing and innovation. In the financial year 2024-25, four companies have received a total of ₹322.01 crore under the scheme.
The scheme provides incentives based on incremental eligible sales compared to the base year of 2019-20. As of December 31, 2024, the cumulative determined sales under the scheme stand at ₹15,230 crore. However, there is no specific target for incremental sales as of February 2025.
Notably, fast chargers for electric buses and other EVs are not classified as Advanced Automotive Technology (AAT) products under the list notified by the Ministry on November 9, 2021. The government continues to support the sector through incentives aimed at boosting domestic manufacturing and enhancing global competitiveness.
