Union Minister Piyush Goyal visits Oman for the 11th Joint Commission Meeting and to advance trade relations and CEPA discussions.

Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal is set to visit Muscat, Oman, from January 27-28, 2025, for the 11th Joint Commission Meeting (JCM) with Oman’s Commerce and Industry Minister, Qais bin Mohammed bin Moosa al-Yousef. The visit underscores India’s strong commitment to its trade and investment ties with Oman, a significant partner in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), with bilateral trade reaching US$8.94 billion in 2023-24.
The leaders will discuss trade, investment, and the global economic outlook, with a focus on advancing the negotiations for the India-Oman Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). A business delegation will accompany the Minister to participate in the Joint Business Council meeting between FICCI and the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Additionally, Goyal will meet key Omani officials, including the Finance Minister and representatives from Oman’s special economic zones, to explore further economic collaboration opportunities.
