Overwhelming Response and the Road Ahead
The NLDS ULIP Logistics Hackathon 2.0 has garnered an impressive response, with over 4700 innovators participating from across India. Shortlisted teams are now preparing for the prototype development round using ULIP APIs to create innovative solutions. In December, the grand finale will showcase the top 10 teams presenting their ideas, with winners announced. There is great anticipation for the solutions that will transform India’s logistics sector.
A Well-Attended Launch Sets the Stage
The launch event, chaired by Rajeev Singh Thakur, DPIIT, attracted a strong response from the industry, with over 1800 attendees participating in the opening session, both in person and online, demonstrating significant interest in the hackathon.
Building Upon the Legacy of Hackathon 1.0
Building on the success of the first ULIP Logistics Hackathon, Hackathon 2.0 unites developers, startups, and industry players once again. This year, the focus is on addressing key logistics issues, including sustainability, streamlining supply chains, unifying documentation, using AI and ML for efficiency, and exploring IoT, automation, and robotics, all aimed at transforming India’s logistics landscape. Rajeev Singh Thakur expressed excitement for NLDS ULIP Logistics Hackathon 2.0, calling it a platform for creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration. Rajat Kumar Saini, CEO & MD, NICDC, and Chairman, NLDSL, urged innovators to join the hackathon, tackle challenges, and create solutions using ULIP. Girish Kumar Surpur, CEO & Director, NLDSL, emphasised innovation as the key to India’s logistics evolution, encouraging participants to contribute to this transformation.

ULIP is a digital gateway that enables industry players to access logistics-related data from various government systems through API-based integration. The platform currently integrates with 38 systems from 11 ministries via 121 APIs, covering over 1800 data fields. Private sector participation has greatly enhanced ULIP’s impact, with more than 1000 companies registered on the ULIP portal (www.goulip.in). These companies have developed over 100 applications, resulting in more than 54 crore API transactions.
