DHL has leased a 350,000 sq ft site in Polivakkam for ₹77 lakh a month. The 11-month agreement supports Chennai’s thriving automotive and electronics sectors.

DHL Supply Chain has finalised a major property agreement in Chennai, securing approximately 350,000 square feet of Grade-A warehousing space. The site is positioned within the Polivakkam industrial zone, a prominent logistics cluster situated in the vicinity of Thiruvallur.
According to property registration data, the agreement officially began on 15 December 2025. This transaction highlights the sustained appetite for large-scale logistics assets on the outskirts of major industrial and manufacturing centres.
The logistics provider is set to pay ₹77 lakh per month, which calculates to roughly ₹22 per square foot.
A security deposit of ₹2.3 crore was paid to the landlord, Value Space Logistics and Industrial Park Polivakkam. The current contract spans an 11-month tenure.
The Polivakkam cluster has surfaced as a pivotal logistics hub for Chennai, offering seamless connectivity to vital highways and industrial corridors. The region primarily supports the automotive, electronics, and engineering sectors, which are central to the local manufacturing economy.
Large-scale leases by global firms such as DHL underscore the strategic importance of the city’s periphery in managing regional supply chains, particularly for firms servicing the wider South Indian market.
