The 14th of December 2022 was a historic day for the Paradip Port, as it passed a milestone. With commendable efforts from the team at the port, it handled 6,49,730 Metric Tonnes of cargo traffic in a single day, which is the highest to date for the port.
Knowing about the same, P.L. Haranadh, the Chairman of the Paradip Port Authority (PPA), took the opportunity to congratulate the team at PPA and express his gratitude to all the associated stakeholders for their consistent support and motivation.
He also praised the authorities for allowing the MV Golden Barnet, a Cape vessel with a draught of 16.20 metres and carrying 1,46,554 tonnes of coking coal, to berth at KICT Berth. This was undertaken after the dredging of the northern dock recently.
With the port aiming to achieve the coveted 125 MMT cargo handling mark, PPA officials appealed to their stakeholders to be the wind beneath their wings. It urged them to well utilize the Cape handling facilities at the port in order to boost operational efficiency and ensure a seamless process flow.
