Leading logistics provider Mahindra Logistics (MLL) announces the operational launch of a 1.1 lakh sq. ft. fulfilment centre in Malda, West Bengal, designed to enhance last-mile deliveries and fulfilment services.
Mahindra Logistics (MLL) takes a strategic step forward with the commencement of operations at a cutting-edge fulfilment centre in Malda, West Bengal. Covering 1.1 lakh sq. ft., the centre is dedicated to efficient fulfilment and last-mile deliveries, reinforcing MLL’s commitment to providing integrated logistics solutions.
Tailored specifically for grocery and e-commerce customers, the expansion includes the addition of 14 last-mile delivery stations, impacting approximately 15,000 households daily. Positioned strategically in the Eastern region, the centre serves Northern West Bengal, Eastern Bihar, and parts of the Northeast, optimising deliveries with a daily processing capacity of 10,000 orders and an inventory exceeding 15 lakh units.
Rampraveen Swaminathan, Managing Director and CEO of Mahindra Logistics, highlights the facility’s role in servicing demand centers and providing end-to-end fulfilment and last-mile delivery solutions. This expansion aligns with MLL’s vision of offering integrated supply chain solutions nationwide, extending operations to tier-II and tier-III cities.
The Malda fulfilment centre reflects the government’s commitment to transforming the eastern region into a key driver of India’s economic growth. With an increased warehousing footprint in West Bengal totaling 3.3 lakh sq. ft., the operations are poised to generate over 750 job opportunities, including 350 dedicated personnel for the last-mile network. Mahindra Logistics continues to play a vital role in facilitating swift and dependable deliveries, contributing to the growth and transformation of the logistics landscape in India.
