Kales Airline Services aims to be the first GSSA to achieve the CEIV Pharma certification.
Kales Airline Services is on track to become the inaugural General Sales and Service Agent (GSSA) to obtain the coveted International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) Center of Excellence for Independent Validators in Pharmaceutical Logistics (CEIV Pharma) certification. CEO Sebastiaan Scholte revealed plans to complete the certification process by September 2024.
The initiative underscores the vital role of GSSAs in the air cargo supply chain, emphasising alignment with pharmaceutical shipment standards. Initial certification efforts will focus on stations in Brussels, Zurich, and Milan, with dedicated personnel undergoing rigorous training. Scholte highlighted the importance of enthusiastic staff participation in achieving certification standards.
The industry has welcomed the initiative, with airlines expressing support for enhanced service quality. Kales Airline Services intends to leverage certification to attract new pharmaceutical business opportunities, targeting regions with significant pharmaceutical shipments. IATA commended Kales’ commitment to excellence, aligning with CEIV Pharma’s goal of improving pharmaceutical logistics globally.
