Japan Airlines (JAL) announces a strategic move back into the freighter market, unveiling plans to launch dedicated freighter operations with its first converted Boeing 767-300ER.
The converted freighter is scheduled to operate routes connecting Tokyo Narita and Nagoya to key destinations, including Taipei, Seoul Incheon, and Shanghai Pudong, beginning February 19.
This marks JAL’s return to freighter operations after a 13-year hiatus, signifying the airline’s commitment to expanding its cargo and mail business. The move follows JAL’s retirement of Boeing 747-400 freighters in 2011 and represents a significant step in enhancing the carrier’s air transportation capabilities and logistics infrastructure.
