Piyush Goyal urges industry to adopt sustainable practices and drive global benchmarks.

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Shri Piyush Goyal, addressing CAPEXIL’s Vibrant Buildcon 2025, called on industry stakeholders to adopt sustainable practices and aim for global excellence. He emphasised reducing import dependency, encouraging clean and green construction, and investing in earthquake-resistant and modular infrastructure.
Highlighting India’s expanding construction capabilities, Goyal referenced the impact of Global Capability Centres, domestic manufacturing under Make in India, and key sectors including housing, infrastructure, and energy. He stressed that every component—cement, electrical systems, automation—contributes to building a stronger ecosystem.
He noted the transformative infrastructure projects initiated during the pandemic, such as Bharat Mandapam and Yashobhoomi, which have hosted global events like the G20 Summit and Bharat Mobility. Goyal also outlined major initiatives including 20 smart cities, enhanced tourism infrastructure, and 100 new industrial hubs.
Connecting infrastructure growth with national development, he stated that India’s vision of becoming a $30–35 trillion economy by 2047 hinges on collective contribution. Goyal concluded by underscoring India’s emergence as a global superpower driven by innovation, fair wages, and inclusive growth.
