Despite the grim scenario in the industry, Gati Limited experienced remarkable growth in FY23. Realising the sector’s contribution to GDP, the government has enhanced its focus on capital expenditure for rail and road infrastructure development, digitisation, multi-modal connectivity, and overall supply chain growth.
The Urban Investment Development Fund is expected to enhance connectivity and transportation in tier 2 and 3 cities. Meanwhile, Gati recently launched a world-class, tech-enabled Surface Transhipment Centre (STC) in Nagpur. This took their count of operational hubs to four, including Mumbai, Farukhnagar and Guwahati.
Commenting on the results, Pirojshaw (Phil) Sarkari, Chief Executive Officer, Gati Limited, shared:
“The company has recorded the highest ever quarterly revenue for Q3 FY23, which stands at ₹379 Crores. This performance reflects the company’s focus on customer delight and Operational efficiency. Express business revenues for 9M FY23 stood at ₹1,114 Crores registering a growth of 20.7 per cent compared to last year. The gross margin expansion remains on track. This growth is on the backdrop of infrastructure amplification, digitisation and sales acceleration initiatives upon which the company has embarked. In the next phase of infrastructure development, we’ll be setting up four surface transhipment hubs in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Indore and Kolkata.”
The company also has plans to use Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems to improve customer experience and sales management. They have also launched 20 EVs for first and last-mile delivery and to reduce logistical costs.
