In preparation for The Big Billion Days (TBBD) 2024, Flipkart has significantly expanded its supply chain network, adding 11 new fulfillment centers across nine cities in India. This expansion brings the total number of fulfillment centers to 83, covering over 1.3 million square feet.
As part of its growth strategy, Flipkart will generate over one lakh new jobs across more than 40 regions during this festive season. These roles will span various supply chain functions, including inventory management, logistics coordination, and delivery operations.
Hemant Badri, Senior Vice President and Head of Supply Chain at Flipkart Group, emphasised that TBBD is more than just a flagship event; it’s a celebration that unites the entire ecosystem. The supply chain enhancements aim to meet growing customer demands while driving economic growth and community empowerment.
Flipkart is also investing in skilling and training programs to prepare the new workforce, focusing on inclusivity by hiring more women, people with disabilities, and members of the LGBTQAI+ community. With these efforts, Flipkart is set to redefine the e-commerce experience in India.
