DP World opens Nhava Sheva Business Park and begins Bharat Mart build to boost India-UAE logistics ties.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum inaugurated DP World’s Nhava Sheva Business Park (NSBP), a Free Trade Warehousing Zone (FTWZ) near Mumbai. Spanning one million square feet, with another million in development, the facility features temperature-controlled and specialised storage to serve a variety of industries. The NSBP is part of DP World’s network of 12 global FTWZs and aims to enhance India-UAE trade by cutting costs, improving operational efficiency, and strengthening supply chains.
During the visit, DP World also announced the commencement of Bharat Mart’s construction in Dubai’s Jebel Ali Free Zone. Slated to open by end-2026, the 2.7 million square foot facility will feature 1,500 showrooms, modern warehousing, office spaces, and dedicated zones for women-led Indian businesses. Bharat Mart will act as a trading gateway for Indian MSMEs to access global markets through Jebel Ali’s multimodal logistics network.
Union Minister Piyush Goyal praised the project’s potential, emphasising its role in advancing the India-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement. Additionally, DP World signed an MoU with RITES to explore joint infrastructure development, including ports, logistics parks, and rail connectivity.
DP World also reported a 13% year-on-year growth at its Mundra International Container Terminal, handling over 1.49 million TEUs in FY 2024-25. March 2025 marked its highest-ever monthly throughput with nearly 139,000 TEUs. These developments reinforce DP World’s commitment to transforming regional trade infrastructure and strengthening India’s global connectivity.
