Business Session 2 of CargoNXT, titled “Tech-Powered Logistics: The Next Frontier in Supply Chain Optimisation”, brought together industry frontrunners to discuss how cutting-edge technologies are transforming the logistics landscape. The session was steered by Ajay Singh, Chief Supply Chain Officer & VP at Hindustan Platinum, and focused on themes critical to digital evolution in logistics.
Panelists included Varun Kakkar, General Manager – Supply Chain, Grasim Industries (Aditya Birla Group); Amartya Guha, Vice President – Supply Chain Management, Sugar Cosmetics; Sandip Satapathy, Head – Supply Chain, Tata Steel; and Amrendra Singh, Logistics Operations Lead, Mondelēz International. The session highlighted the strategic use of real-time data and analytics for predictive decision-making, and examined challenges in AI integration across logistics functions.
Discussions also covered robotics in warehousing to boost efficiency, blockchain for secure and transparent transactions, and IoT-enabled tracking that enhances visibility. The panel raised concerns over cybersecurity, emphasised the need to bridge the supply chain talent gap, and explored emerging drone applications in last-mile delivery.
The session reaffirmed that technology is not just enhancing logistics—it is redefining the entire supply chain ecosystem.
