DFCCIL MD Praveen Kumar focuses on Gati Shakti Terminals to boost business growth.
Praveen Kumar, the newly appointed Managing Director of Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India (DFCCIL), has underscored the importance of developing Gati Shakti Cargo Terminals as a strategic move to enhance the company’s business potential. Kumar, who took over from Ravindra Kumar Jain on July 31, stressed that boosting freight revenue and expanding the company’s business scope will be central to his leadership.
Kumar emphasised that the expansion of Gati Shakti Cargo Terminals is crucial for achieving these objectives. The government’s ‘Gati Shakti Multimodal Cargo Terminal Policy,’ launched in December 2021, aims to establish 100 terminals by the end of 2024-25. DFCCIL is actively working on this initiative, with tenders being issued for the development of terminals on private land along the western and eastern dedicated freight corridors.
This initiative opens opportunities for various stakeholders, including logistics providers, real estate developers, and warehousing investors.
