The Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India (DFCCIL) Vadodara unit is extending freight terminals at railway stations to serve nearby industrial zones. Manish Gupta, General Manager (Coordination) at DFCCIL Vadodara, has identified potential locations like Makarpura, Varedia, New Sanjali, New Gothan, and New Udhana for these terminals and initiated the tendering process.
Furthermore, they’re creating a green corridor from Jawaharlal Nehru Port Terminal in Mumbai to Dadri, using solar energy to make stations energy-neutral. Gupta revealed that they’ve started trial runs on the electrified rail section connecting Gothangam and Makarpura. The Vadodara unit was also awarded the Running Efficiency Shield for their innovative approaches.
