Led by the Danish Embassy and Consulate General in India, the Green Fuels Alliance India (GFAI) initiative aims to catalyse sustainable energy growth by fostering collaboration among businesses, government entities, research institutions, and financial stakeholders from both countries.
Noteworthy founding members, including Maersk, Topsoe, and Danfoss, are committed to advancing the green fuels sector, particularly green hydrogen. The GFAI advisory board comprises key entities like the India Hydrogen Alliance and the Danish Energy Agency.
Speaking at the Tamil Nadu Investors Summit, Freddy Svane, Denmark’s Ambassador to India, emphasised the urgency of global action and applauded the Green Strategic Partnership. Morten Bo Christiansen, Head of Energy Transition at Maersk, highlighted India’s potential as a green energy leader and underscored the challenge of ensuring cost-competitive green energy availability for the shipping sector.
As GFAI facilitates knowledge sharing and strategic partnerships, Maersk’s commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2040 aligns with the alliance’s goal of driving sustainable energy solutions.
