MMLP Nagpur receives first rake of 123 Maruti cars, boosts logistics under Gati Shakti.

In a major boost to India’s logistics infrastructure, commercial operations have officially commenced at the Multi Modal Logistics Park (MMLP) Nagpur, located at Sindi near Wardha, under the ambitious PM Gati Shakti initiative. Guided by Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Shri Nitin Gadkari, the park aims to enable seamless multi-modal connectivity and faster cargo movement.
Developed by National Highway Logistics Management (NHLML)—a 100% subsidiary of NHAI—MMLP Nagpur received its first rake of 123 Maruti cars from Farukhnagar on April 28, 2025, marking a significant operational milestone.
Set up under a public-private partnership model, the project spans 150 acres in three phases with an estimated cost of ₹673 crore and a 45-year concession period. Phase I alone involves an investment of ₹137 crore.
To facilitate development, an authority special purpose vehicle—Maharashtra MMLP —has been created between NHLML and Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA). This SPV is responsible for providing land, rail and road links, power, and water infrastructure.
The facility will house warehouses, cold storages, intermodal terminals, bulk cargo facilities, and value-added services such as grading, bonded warehouses, customs offices, and truck terminals, transforming regional logistics capabilities.
MMLP Nagpur is set to revolutionise freight movement by improving intermodal efficiency, reducing costs and transit time, and enhancing tracking and warehousing systems. It is also expected to generate employment and drive regional economic development, stated an official release.
