Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) announced on Wednesday the series of sustainable initiatives taken by the ministry to promote sustainability, including Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and reduce carbon emissions at the country’s airports. Moreover, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) has outlined a framework to make Indian airports dependent on 100 per cent renewable energy.
The MoCA The MoCA is working to reduce the increased carbon emissions from Indian airports. The government body advised the Airports Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA) to take into account the expenses of deploying green energy resources while finalising the airport tariffs. AAI outlined the plan for scheduled operational airports and taken steps like energy intensity data publication to reduce energy intensity for existing and upcoming airports.
