Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru (KIAB/BLR Airport), has concluded the mango season on a high note, achieving a remarkable milestone. In 2023, the airport processed a staggering 684,648 kgs of mango exports, marking a remarkable 124 percent surge compared to the previous year’s 305,521 kgs. This season also witnessed an 86 percent increase in the number of exported mango pieces, totaling approximately 1.7 million.
Notably, BLR Airport expanded its mango export footprint to the United States, with cities like Dallas Fort Worth, Washington D.C., and San Francisco playing pivotal roles. Satyaki Raghunath, Chief Strategy and Development Officer at BIAL, emphasised BLR Airport’s role in facilitating perishable exports from India and enhancing the global reach of South India’s mangoes. The airport’s streamlined cool-port export operations solidify its reputation as a premier gateway connecting the world to the region’s rich produce.
