The national carrier has resumed the non-stop daily flights between Mumbai (BOM) and New York (JFK), which was stopped in early 2019. This is another effort by the airline to develop Mumbai as an international hub after Delhi.
Air India will operate this route daily with the new batch of Boeing 777-200LR. Flight AI 119 will depart Mumbai at 00:55 hours and arrive in New York at 06:55 hrs (local time) on the same day. The return flight AI 116 will depart New York at 10:55 hrs (local time) to arrive in Mumbai at 11:35 hrs+1 day.
This takes the India-US weekly frequency to 47 non-stop flights. Besides Mumbai to Newark and Mumbai to San Francisco routes, Air India also operates flights from Delhi to New York, Newark, San Francisco, Chicago, and Washington DC. It also operates from Bengaluru to San Francisco. The airline serves 14 routes between India and Canada every week as well.
