With the National Master Plan for Multi-Modal Connectivity in place, Ahmedabad-based Adani Group plans to accelerate its logistics business by launching six more Multi-Modal Logistics Parks (MMLPs) in five states over the next two years, including Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Telangana. Adani Group already operates up to five MMLPs in various sections of the country. We are in the process of opening six more parks: two in Gujarat (Sanand and Ankleshwar), one in UP (Dadri), one in Haryana (Panipat), one near Rajasthan’s capital, Jaipur, and one in Hyderabad. ” The PM Gati Shakti-Master Plan for Multi-Modal Connectivity would enable us to accelerate the implementation of these projects,” said Vikram Jaisinghani, managing director and CEO of Adani Logistics (ALL).
Speaking after the National Launch of Integrated Master Plan-Gati Shakti Gujarat, Jaisinghani stated that the PM’s Gati Shakti initiative would allow developers of logistics parks to gain quick approval from a single platform, allowing them to complete their projects faster.
ALL currently has nine MMLPs in operation in Patli, Kishangarh, Kilaraipur, Kanech, Malur, Nagpur, Mundra, Taloja, and Vap. Adani Logistics plans to open the MMLP in Sanand, on the outskirts of Ahmedabad, in April 2023. In January 2021, the Gujarat government signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Adani Ports and SEZ to develop India’s largest multi-modal logistics park in Virochan Nagar, near Sanand in Ahmedabad. The park encompasses 1,450 acres. According to the agreement, the park will attract Rs 50,000 crore in investment and generate direct and indirect jobs for 25,000 people.
“Over the next three years, ALL plans to increase its warehouse capacity from 10 million square feet to 60 million square feet.” We currently have roughly 20 grain terminals, which we hope to increase to 100 within a few years,” he added.
ALL, a subsidiary of Adani Ports and SEZ, is the country’s largest diversified end-to-end logistics service provider, with a presence in all key markets. The company serves a wide range of customers in sectors such as retail, industrial, container, bulk, break-bulk, liquids, auto, and grain.
Another Adani Group firm, Adani Agri Logistics (AALL), has also inked an exclusive service deal with the Food Corporation of India for the management of food grains, from receiving at base depots, cleaning and drying, storage, and transportation to field depots, all of which is done in bulk, reducing losses. These units are informed of FCI procurement centers, where farmers provide their produce in bulk directly. The project was completed at a cost of roughly Rs 700 crore.
