Nestlé India has marked five years of its Sanand factory in Gujarat, which makes MAGGI Noodles, KITKAT and MUNCH.

Nestlé India has celebrated five years of its Sanand factory in Gujarat, which was commissioned in 2021. Located in Sanand GIDC, the factory spans over 82 acres and manufactures brands including MAGGI Noodles, MAGGI Masala-ae-Magic, KITKAT and MUNCH. The company said the factory has strengthened its ability to serve consumers and contributed to local economic development, employment generation and sustainable manufacturing practices.
Mr Manish Tiwary, Chairman and Managing Director of Nestlé India, said the factory has evolved into a strategic manufacturing hub that serves consumers across the country and the South Asia region. He thanked the Government of Gujarat, employees, partners and the local community for their support.
The facility employs approximately 700 people, including approximately 25 per cent gender diversity, with a workforce whose average age is well below 30 years. About 20 people with special abilities work across the noodles production line.
On sustainability, the factory has installed biomass boilers, adopted natural gas in ovens and improved energy efficiency. It currently sources 28 per cent of its energy from renewable sources and has built 82 percolation wells to support groundwater recharge. It sources key agricultural raw materials such as wheat flour locally and works with approximately 38 local suppliers for raw and packaging materials.
