Joint Working Group discusses technology, IP and entrepreneurship cooperation.

The fourth meeting of the India–Denmark Joint Working Group (JWG) between the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India, and the Danish Patent and Trademark Office (DKPTO) was held in Copenhagen from August 24 to 28, 2026. The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in MSME development, innovation and intellectual property.
The discussions covered technology adoption, innovation, intellectual property, technology commercialisation, entrepreneurship and cluster-based MSME development. Both sides exchanged views on their respective MSME and innovation ecosystems and explored opportunities for greater institutional collaboration.
The Indian delegation was led by Dr Rajneesh, Additional Secretary and Development Commissioner, Ministry of MSME, along with officials from the Ministry and the National Institute for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (ni-msme). The delegation also included representatives from the Embassy of India in Copenhagen. The Danish delegation comprised officials from DKPTO and the Royal Danish Embassy in New Delhi.
During the programme, the Indian delegation visited Aarhus University Innovation “Kitchen” and Agro Food Park to understand Denmark’s innovation support systems, start-up ecosystem and cluster-based approaches for MSME development. The delegation also participated in the Nordic–India Startup Summit 2026 organised by TechBBQ and engaged with stakeholders from the Nordic start-up and innovation ecosystem.
The meeting concluded with discussions on future cooperation under the JWG framework, with both countries reaffirming their commitment to promoting innovation and intellectual property-led growth for MSMEs.
