SHM Shipcare Private Limited has received the National Award for Excellence in Ports and Shipping 2026 for developing India’s first indigenously designed lifeboat.

SHM Shipcare Private Limited has been conferred the National Award for Excellence in Ports and Shipping 2026 in the category of Outstanding Industry Achievement, recognising the company’s development of India’s first indigenously designed lifeboat. The award was presented at the 13th edition of the National Awards for Excellence in Ports and Shipping held at Taj Lands End, Mumbai. The recognition is expected to strengthen SHM Shipcare’s positioning as an indigenous alternative in the lifesaving appliances category and lend momentum to its ongoing work with classification societies, shipyards and government stakeholders.
