Sealed courier consignments will now move through HRTC’s passenger bus network, bringing organised express logistics to mountainous regions traditionally underserved by structured delivery networks.

DTDC Express Ltd. has announced a strategic partnership with Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) to strengthen logistics connectivity across Himachal Pradesh’s remote and mountainous regions. Under the alliance, sealed DTDC courier consignments will move through approved HRTC passenger bus routes, creating a direct and streamlined distribution model across difficult terrain.
The first phase activates key routes including Shimla to Rampur, Rampur to Reckong Peo, Shimla to Chidgaon, and Shimla to Karsog, with provision for expansion across additional sectors. The partnership is particularly significant for MSMEs and local traders in the hills, replacing multiple disconnected transport steps with faster, more consistent parcel movement and deepening commercial integration between remote production clusters and urban consumption centres.
Abhishek Chakraborty, CEO, DTDC Express Limited, said the partnership is about improving service access for customers across Himachal Pradesh and is part of the company’s commitment to be present in every corner and pincode where Indian ambition lives, celebrates, and grows. The arrangement also generates additional non-fare revenue for HRTC through optimal utilisation of available luggage space.
