The Prime Minister emphasised that the safety and convenience of Indians remains the government’s highest priority, while reiterating India’s diplomatic push to de-escalate the conflict.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Lok Sabha on 23 March 2026 on the ongoing West Asia conflict, sharing key highlights of his address on social media. He underlined that the crisis has presented India with unprecedented challenges and called for Parliament to send a united and unanimous voice to the world on the matter.
The Prime Minister stated that the government is giving the highest priority to the safety and convenience of Indians amid the war, acting with complete sensitivity, vigilance, and readiness. He highlighted that LPG availability for domestic consumers has been prioritised to ensure ordinary households face minimal disruption, and that the government continues to take steps to protect the interests of farmers from the impact of the crisis.
On the diplomatic front, Modi said he has personally engaged with all relevant leaders in West Asia, urging de-escalation and an end to the conflict. He added that India’s diplomatic efforts to ensure the safety and free movement of Indian ships in the region are ongoing.
