NMIA handles 22.21 tonnes of cargo in first 19 days, marking a strong start for the airport’s new freight operations.

Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) has marked a key operational milestone, handling 22.21 tonnes of cargo within its first 19 days of commercial operations. This initial throughput highlights the airport’s integrated approach to managing freight alongside passenger services from the very outset.
The airport’s modern infrastructure and streamlined processes have been designed to support a robust logistics ecosystem. With a focus on operational efficiency and high standards of service, NMIA is positioned to serve as a critical cargo hub for the region, complementing its growing network of scheduled flights.
While the cargo ramp-up remains a priority, the airport also saw strong passenger traction during this period by surpassing 1 lakh passengers. It recorded 10th January as their busiest day.
