Enlight Metals to invest ₹80 crore in 10 AI-powered dark stores to serve 1,500 OEMs with faster, smarter industrial fulfilment.

In a major move to reshape India’s industrial supply chain, Enlight Metals, one of the country’s fastest-growing metal aggregators, has announced an ₹80 crore investment to set up 10 AI-powered dark stores across key manufacturing hubs. The initiative aims to build a tech-enabled distribution network capable of serving more than 1,500 Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) nationwide.
The new dark stores will be launched in Aurangabad, Nashik, Ahmedabad, Nagpur, Bengaluru, Indore, and Chennai, adding to the company’s existing presence in Mumbai and Pune. Designed as micro-fulfilment hubs, each facility will leverage AI-driven stock orchestration, predictive analytics, and automation to boost speed, accuracy, and real-time responsiveness.
“We are building the infrastructure for India’s next-generation manufacturing economy,” said Dhananjay Goel, Director at Enlight Metals. “This network is not merely about faster delivery; it’s about smarter, data-led distribution. By leveraging AI, we are transforming supply chains into intelligent, adaptive ecosystems that evolve dynamically with customer demand.”
Of the total investment, 50% has been allocated to infrastructure development and automation, with the remaining funds dedicated to enhancing the company’s digital platforms, AI-powered planning systems, and workforce expansion. Each location will house a regional engagement cell to assist OEMs with demand planning, technical coordination, and on-site service support.
Unlike conventional warehouses, dark stores are fulfilment-first facilities positioned closer to consumption centres. This proximity enables 24-hour delivery cycles and real-time inventory visibility, cutting production downtime and improving reliability for manufacturers.
Industry analysts say the expansion marks a milestone in Enlight Metals’ mission to become India’s most agile and data-centric materials distribution partner, promising higher transparency and efficiency across the manufacturing and infrastructure ecosystem.
