L&T Energy transported a 54.1m absorption tower 1,350 km, marking a record in over-dimensional cargo movement.

Larsen & Toubro Energy has achieved a landmark in heavy cargo movement by successfully transporting one of India’s longest industrial consignments across states. The company delivered an Absorption Tower for CFCL’s Nitric Acid plant at Gadepan, Kota, Rajasthan, covering a distance of 1,350 kilometers from Dahej, Gujarat.
The massive unit, measuring 54.1 meters in length, 5 meters in width, 5.1 meters in height, and weighing 178 metric tons, was transported over 27 days. The operation was executed by L&T Energy’s Advent division in collaboration with RRC Global Logistics.
The project faced multiple challenges due to the equipment’s size and weight, as well as diverse terrain and infrastructure constraints along the route. Despite these hurdles, the team ensured safe and timely delivery with precision planning and execution.
This movement has set a new benchmark in over-dimensional cargo logistics in India and is being considered for inclusion in the Book of Records for the largest package transported over Indian roads.
