Scindia launches Advanced Postal Technology to enhance India Post’s logistics, delivery, and financial services.

The Department of Posts (DoP) has rolled out IT 2.0 – Advanced Postal Technology (APT), marking a major milestone in India’s logistics and postal modernisation drive. Launched under the leadership of Union Minister of Communications and DoNER, Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia, the initiative aligns with the Government’s Digital India and Make in India vision.
The APT platform introduces a cloud-ready, microservices-based system that enables faster, reliable, and user-friendly logistics solutions across 1.65 lakh post offices. Developed indigenously by the Centre for Excellence in Postal Technology, it is hosted on the MeghRaj 2.0 cloud and supported by BSNL connectivity, ensuring reach even in rural areas.
Key features include QR-based payments, OTP-enabled deliveries, open API architecture, and a 10-digit DIGIPIN to improve delivery accuracy. With end-to-end digital solutions covering booking to delivery, APT enhances speed, transparency, and reporting in postal logistics.
The system has already handled over 32 lakh bookings and 37 lakh deliveries in a single day, positioning India Post as a robust logistics backbone for inclusive growth.
