TVS Go Green Express, a collaboration with Concor and Indian Railways, promises faster, greener logistics for export containers.
The Container Corporation of India (Concor), in partnership with Indian Railways and the Chennai Port Authority, launched the inaugural TVS Go Green Express container train on November 28. The train, loaded with TVS Motor Company’s Direct Port Entry (DPE) export containers, marked a significant milestone in streamlining container transportation.
Facilitated by TVS SCS Global Freight Solutions Ltd, the shipment travelled from Jolarpet to Kamarajar Port Ltd, Ennore. The DPE initiative allows exporters to transport containers directly to the port, bypassing Container Freight Stations (CFS) for customs clearance—a process that previously added time and complexity.
This development enhances connectivity between Chennai ports and regions in Southern and Northern Tamil Nadu, as well as Bangalore. Additionally, Concor’s deployment of LNG-powered trucks for first- and last-mile connectivity supports green logistics and provides a cost-effective transportation alternative, as highlighted in a Concor social media update.
The launch signifies a critical step toward environmentally sustainable and efficient cargo transportation, reflecting India’s commitment to innovative logistics solutions.
