Dr. Manoj Choudhary lauds Tata-Airbus C295 facility as a boost to “Make in India.”
Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Choudhary, Vice Chancellor of Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya, recently participated in a discussion alongside Air Marshal Sanjeev Kapoor, emphasising India’s expanding defense manufacturing capabilities under the “Make in India” vision. The discussion spotlighted the new Tata-Airbus C295 aircraft facility as a major milestone, marking India’s first private-sector assembly line for military aircraft.
This first-of-its-kind private assembly line for military aircraft combines Spanish technological expertise with Indian talent, a partnership Dr. Choudhary emphasised as pivotal for growth.
Air Marshal Sanjeev Kapoor highlighted the strategic advantage of domestic production, noting it as a step toward self-sufficiency in defense. Dr. Choudhary also praised the government’s ongoing efforts to develop an ecosystem conducive to manufacturing and innovation.
At the facility’s inauguration, Prime Minister Narendra Modi recognised Vadodara’s role as an emerging MSME and aviation hub, while spotlighting Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya’s contribution in preparing skilled professionals, which is set to drive India’s aviation and defense sectors forward.
