NPG assesses five major infrastructure projects to boost connectivity and development.
The 81st meeting of the Network Planning Group (NPG) under the PM GatiShakti initiative took place, chaired by Additional Secretary of DPIIT, Rajeev Singh Thakur. The session focused on evaluating five critical infrastructure projects from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) and the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) for their alignment with the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan.
Among the projects was the Vrindavan Bypass in Uttar Pradesh, which aims to cut travel time between NH-44 and the Yamuna Expressway from 1.5 hours to just 15 minutes. Other projects include a 142.26 km Sandalpur-Badi Road in Madhya Pradesh and the upgrade of the Junnar-Taleghar Road in Maharashtra, both designed to improve regional connectivity and foster economic growth.
Additionally, the development of a new integrated terminal at Srinagar Airport in Jammu & Kashmir is set to handle 10 million annual passengers, enhancing travel capacity in the region.
