Rites has received a letter of award from Tsiko Africa Logistics for a $4.28 million locomotive overhaul project.
Rites has announced that it has been awarded a contract by Tsiko Africa Logistics for the supply and commissioning of an overhaul of a Cape Gauge 3100 HP diesel-electric locomotive. The letter of award (LoA) confirms Rites’ commitment to enhancing rail transport capabilities in the region.
The project entails the complete supply and commissioning of the refurbished locomotive, along with a one-year onsite warranty. The total value of the contract stands at $4.28 million, and the order is scheduled to be executed within six months.
As a Miniratna (Category-I) Schedule ‘A’ public sector enterprise, Rites is recognized as a leader in the transport consultancy and engineering sector in India, with a diverse range of services and a significant geographical footprint. As of June 30, 2024, the Government of India retains a 72.20 percent stake in the company, reflecting its strategic importance in national infrastructure development.
