Amazon India has created over 110,000 seasonal job opportunities to meet the festive rush, focusing on inclusivity and associate well-being.
As India prepares for the upcoming festive season, Amazon India has announced the creation of more than 110,000 seasonal job opportunities across its operations network, including in cities such as Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Chennai. These roles, both direct and indirect, have been designed to help Amazon manage the increased demand during the festive period. Notably, the company has hired thousands of women and nearly 1,900 persons with disabilities (PWDs) to strengthen its workforce.
Union Minister of Labour & Employment, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, praised the initiative, stating, “Amazon’s commitment to create over 1 lakh seasonal jobs is commendable, especially with its focus on hiring women and PWDs while ensuring their safety, healthcare, and well-being.”
Abhinav Singh, VP – Operations at Amazon India, added, “To meet the festive season demand, we’ve hired over 1.1 lakh additional people to strengthen our fulfillment and logistics network. A number of these associates continue to work with Amazon beyond the festive season, creating long-term employment opportunities. Our infrastructure continues to fuel job creation while prioritising associate safety and well-being.”
