After a 15-year stint in manufacturing, he transitioned to the dynamic field of cargo and logistics 22 years ago. Pioneering Change
In 2007, during the project stage of the Green Field Bengaluru and Hyderabad International Airports, Srinivas, then Procurement Manager for Material Handling Equipment and Ground Support Equipment, introduced the innovative idea of using battery-operated forklifts for air cargo terminal operations. This was the first of its kind in India. By conducting a techno-commercial analysis, he demonstrated that these forklifts were not only eco-friendly but also economical and reliable, with AC drive motors that minimised breakdowns compared to DC motors. Today, most warehouses and airports across the country utilise these battery-operated forklifts, showcasing his lasting impact on the industry.

One of his significant achievements includes the introduction of battery-operated forklifts, which have proven to be eco-friendly and cost-effective. He played a pivotal role in procuring Material Handling Equipment (MHEs) and Ground Support Equipment (GSEs) for new Green Field Airport Cargo Terminals and successfully managing the start-up operations and system setups for new air cargo terminals.
Srinivas has also been instrumental in staff training, regularly liaising with regulatory agencies like Indian Customs for approvals, and organising e-auctions for import cargo disposal. His commitment extends to education, as he trains trade participants and guides students through internships while also lecturing at colleges. Notably, during a major system glitch affecting customs clearance, he navigated the situation with meticulous planning to resolve the chaos. His ongoing efforts in managing staff, operational materials, and customer queries demonstrate his dedication to operational excellence and innovation in the logistics sector.
