FedEx teams up with SPC Free Zone to connect Sharjah e-commerce businesses globally.
Sharjah Publishing City Free Zone (SPC Free Zone) and Federal Express Corporation (FedEx) have announced a strategic partnership aimed at expanding international market access for e-commerce businesses in Sharjah. FedEx will leverage its extensive global logistics network to link SPC Free Zone businesses with 220 countries and territories, covering over 90 percent of the world’s GDP.
The collaboration involves FedEx experts providing SPC Free Zone companies with valuable insights on global expansion, highlighting how FedEx’s digital solutions can assist SMEs in navigating global trade complexities and improving their operational efficiency.
This initiative is expected to boost trade volumes in Sharjah, enhancing the competitiveness of the local economy and supporting the UAE’s economic diversification goals. The partnership reflects the commitment of both SPC Free Zone and FedEx to fostering a business-friendly environment that drives growth and innovation.
Sharjah’s economy saw a real GDP growth of 4.6 percent in 2023, with projections indicating a 2.8 percent average annual expansion from 2024 to 2027, driven by manufacturing, construction, transport, and trade sectors. Additionally, UAE’s non-oil foreign trade exceeded AED 3.5 trillion for the first time in 2023, reflecting ongoing growth in non-oil exports.
