IESW 2024 to launch multiple factories, boosting India’s global manufacturing mission.
The India Energy Storage Alliance (IESA) is set to host the 10th edition of India Energy Storage Week (IESW) from July 1-5, 2024, in New Delhi, presenting over ₹2,000 crore in investment opportunities in the energy storage, electric vehicle, and green hydrogen sectors.
IESW 2024 will serve as a launchpad for various factory and Gigafactory announcements, solidifying India’s position as a global manufacturing hub. In a press conference, IESA unveiled plans for significant new investments and factory announcements aimed at advancing India’s clean tech mission. Distinguished guests included Cristian Valdes Carter from Innovation Norway and Nashid Chowdhury from the Government of Western Australia, alongside industry leaders and government representatives.
The event will feature participation from over 150 key partners and exhibitors and more than 1,000 companies. Notably, VFlowTech will announce the launch of the largest non-lithium battery manufacturing facility in Palwal, Haryana. Nash Energy will showcase its indigenous Li-Ion battery cell, produced at its Karnataka plant with a capacity of 600 MWh, scalable to 1.5 GWh. BatX Energies will introduce HUB-1, a cutting-edge battery recycling facility.
Lohum, specialising in Lithium-Ion battery recycling, will enter next-gen ‘Manganese-rich’ Lithium-ion battery technology manufacturing, supported by an R&D grant from India’s Ministry of Mines. Bharat Cell by Khusmanda Power will announce a 2 GWh BSES system manufacturing facility.
IESW 2024 is also expected to witness the signing of over five MoUs and partnerships, including one between IESA and Powering Australia. Government officials will unveil three knowledge papers on battery-grade graphite, battery raw materials availability, and India’s mobility electrification journey.
The event will see participation from 10+ central ministries and bodies, including MNRE, MoP, MHI, MoRTH, MEITY, Ministry of Mines, Ministry of Science & Technology, and NITI Aayog. International partners include Australia, Norway, and Finland, with the Government of Western Australia as the Global State Partner.
Parallel sessions will be organised by various partners, including the LDES Council and the Indo-German Energy Forum. The event will also feature a Start-Up Day program with 50+ start-ups, 10+ incubation centers, and leading investors. Additionally, the Women in Energy Forum will host over 200 women leaders from the energy storage, electric mobility, and green hydrogen sectors.
