Efficient, eco-friendly fuel transport solution to Noida airport to be done by Bharat Petroleum Corporation.
Noida International Airport (NIA) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL) are set to revolutionise fuel logistics with a dedicated aviation turbine fuel (ATF) pipeline. This groundbreaking initiative, spanning 34 kilometers, aims to meet NIA’s ATF demands efficiently while curbing carbon emissions.
The agreement, inked on February 20, 2024, establishes a direct pipeline from BPCL’s Piyala Terminal to NIA’s tank farm. Notable figures from both entities, including Sujit Kumar and Nitu Samra, signed the pact, underscoring its significance.
This pipeline, extending 1.2 kilometers within the airport, will operate on a common/contract carrier basis, ensuring seamless fuel supply. It aligns with NIA’s commitment to environmental responsibility by reducing tank lorry movements and associated emissions.
Sukhmal Jain, Director (Marketing) at BPCL, reiterated the company’s dedication to sustainability, emphasising the reduction of carbon emissions through advanced logistics. Kiran Jain, COO of NIA, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, foreseeing enhanced efficiency and reduced environmental impact.
This venture marks a significant stride towards sustainable aviation fuel infrastructure, setting a precedent for eco-conscious practices in the industry.
