Global shipping giant A.P. Moller – Maersk collaborates with renowned toy manufacturer BANDAI NAMCO to establish a key distribution center in Mexico City, facilitating streamlined supply chain and logistics operations.
In a significant development, A.P. Moller – Maersk (Maersk) has joined forces with global toy manufacturing powerhouse BANDAI NAMCO to inaugurate a pivotal distribution center in the northern part of Mexico City. Positioned strategically, the facility acts as a crucial hub, overseeing the efficient preparation and distribution of Bandai’s products to customers across Mexico.
This collaboration not only grants Bandai access to an expansive market but also harnesses Maersk’s global logistics network and expertise to optimise supply chain connectivity.
Patricia Perez Salazar, Managing Director for Maersk in Mexico, expresses enthusiasm about partnering with BANDAI NAMCO, offering tailor-made solutions for their Mexican operations. As a strategic logistics partner, Maersk utilises its diverse product offerings to enhance operational efficiency and competitiveness for Bandai within the supply chain. With plans for further expansion in Mexico, Maersk aims to elevate logistics standards and empower businesses across the region.
Pablo Vargas San Jose, CEO of BANDAI NAMCO México, highlights the significance of the partnership in maintaining quality services and shares a mutual goal of reducing the carbon footprint. The newly inaugurated center is designed to meet the specific requirements of retail and lifestyle customers, featuring sorting, storage, cross-docking, inventory management, and various value-added services such as labeling, packaging, re-packaging, and order fulfillment.
Leveraging its extensive capacities in Mexico, including terminals, rail transportation, depot storage, and distribution centers, Maersk optimises time and cost efficiency for its customers. With a footprint spanning over 150,000 square meters in Mexico, Maersk reaffirms its commitment to the region.
Future plans include ambitious expansion initiatives in Guadalajara and Monterrey, complementing existing capabilities in Tijuana to facilitate seamless Mexico-US cross-border trade.
