DHL Express, the global leader in international express services, collaborates with Aragen LifeSciences, a top provider of research and development services in the life sciences sector.
DHL Express has collaborated with Aragen LifeSciences to promote sustainable shipping in India. This groundbreaking partnership, marked by the use of DHL’s GoGreen Plus service, establishes Aragen as the first Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) customer for DHL Express in India.
DHL Express India, in a statement, highlights that the GoGreen Plus service aligns with Aragen’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions in international shipments. R.S Subramanian, Senior Vice President – South Asia, DHL Express, expresses satisfaction with the collaboration, stating, “We’re proud to support Aragen’s ambition as our first SBTi customer in India to reduce carbon emissions. Addressing the issue of Scope 3 emissions has become imperative, and with GoGreen Plus, we aim to assist customers on this journey.”
Manni Kantipudi, CEO of Aragen Life Sciences, emphasises sustainability as a key priority, stating that the collaboration with DHL Express is instrumental in achieving near-term targets under SBTi by 2032. The GoGreen Plus service will play a pivotal role in reducing carbon emissions associated with international shipping, reflecting Aragen’s commitment to social and environmental responsibility.
Aragen plans to implement the GoGreen Plus service across major overseas trade lanes, including routes to the Americas and Europe. The service utilises sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) to help customers reduce Scope 3 emissions, encompassing CO2e emissions linked to their freight. Launched recently in India, GoGreen Plus leverages partnerships with key suppliers like bp, Neste, and World Energy, ensuring the production of SAF from alternative raw materials with a sustainable energy profile. The collaboration underscores the mutual commitment of Aragen and DHL to responsible and sustainable practices in managing carbon emissions.
