Etihad Cargo, Abu Dhabi Airports, and Abu Dhabi Food Hub KEZAD have inked a memorandum of understanding to establish the ‘Fresh Corridor 2.0,’ an end-to-end perishable air corridor. This initiative aims to diversify food sources, create new trade routes, and broaden product options for regional consumers, contributing to positioning the UAE as a pivotal point in global food supply chains.
The partnership focuses on developing a robust process for food trading and investment, encompassing advanced infrastructure, access to regional consumer markets, and reliable worldwide logistics and connectivity. The collaboration involves an exchange of knowledge on handling, storage, logistics, food safety, and hygiene.
Etihad Cargo, committed to the UAE’s National Food Security Strategy 2051, anticipates benefits for its customers through expanded infrastructure as a strategic Middle East hub. Abu Dhabi Airports emphasises the facilitation of two-way food trade to bolster the emirate as a global food center. The ‘Fresh Corridor 2.0’ signifies a bold step toward diversification and growth in imports and exports, aligning with the region’s largest dedicated food wholesale market and logistics hub, Abu Dhabi Food Hub – KEZAD.
