Emirates made aviation history at the Dubai Air Show by finalising a groundbreaking order for 125 new widebody Boeing aircraft, valued at over $52 billion. The order includes 55 additional 777-9s, 35 777-8s, and an enhanced commitment to the Boeing 787 Dreamliner series, totaling 35 aircraft.
This deal further cements Emirates’ position as a key player in the aviation industry. The 777X fleet, expected to join the Emirates fleet from 2025 to 2035, will replace retiring 777 aircraft. The airline’s chairman, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, expresses excitement about extending their long-standing partnership with Boeing, anticipating a fleet of around 350 aircraft by the early 2030s.
